The eye runs straight down the blue water, past the mustard and coral houses, up to the bell tower, and the rest of the room calms down around it. Hang it in a hallway, a sunny kitchen or a holiday-mood living room where you want a hit of colour without going full pattern. It sits well with painted timber, rattan, pale oak, linen and terracotta tile. Keep the wall around it fairly plain a chalky off-white or warm cream and let the print carry the colour.
