Seven Herbs of Early Spring by Kamisaka Sekka Art Print

Start with the soft green; it’ll wake every linen around it. This is Kamisaka Sekka’s botanical study from 19091910, with small spring herbs rising out of a cream snowbank.

Put it on a wall and the room slows down. The green is muted, the background is warm cream, and the whole thing reads as space rather than pattern. A quiet room gets a little life without losing its calm.

It works in a bedroom over a low headboard, in a hallway above a slim console, or in a reading corner near a chair and a lamp. Landscape format, so give it a wider wall than a tall one.
